Varsity and junior varsity math teams compete and place in state competitions

During the month of April, the Wesleyan varsity and junior varsity math teams, led by high school math teachers Deborah Brown and Nicole Scalf, competed in state competitions held in Macon, Georgia. 
The varsity team won first place for Class AAA, consisting of schools in the GHSA Class AAA classification. The team included Will Kennedy ‘25, Wood Moore ‘25, Michelle Sande ‘25, and senior Tengle Wang. 

The junior varsity team won third place overall for the state competition. The team consisted of Cole Creel ‘26, David Eaton ‘26, Tom Hughes ‘26, and Troy Nguyen ‘26. 

The state tournament is by invitation only, and only the top 10% of schools are invited based on previous competition results.
