Foundations of 2D Design students paint masterpieces on ornaments

Visual arts students spread Christmas cheer by revamping the existing ornaments on the Christmas trees in Cole Hall, formerly known as the fine arts building.
“About 15 years ago, art classes created bright and colorful paper ornaments that needed to be updated,” explains Meagan Brooker, assistant director of fine arts and high school visual arts teacher. “We decided to take a creative spin on creating new ornaments.”

In Brooker’s Foundations of 2D Design class, students were studying the color wheel and practicing color matching. For the ornament project, students were tasked with choosing a favorite work by a master artist to replicate onto a small ornament.

“The ornaments are very detailed and color accurate,” beams Brooker.

Thank you to all the students who worked so hard on these beautiful ornaments.
