Middle school chorus performs a spring concert

Middle school chorus students performed a Spring Concert on Monday, May 13. 
The fifth and sixth grade chorus opened the show with “The Fox” by Kirk C. Aamot, featuring soloist Ford Van Horn ‘31. Next, they performed “September” by Maurice White, Al McKay, and Allee Willis (arranged by Roger Emerson). Mark Little, percussion specialist, Jeff Foster, band director, and Audrey Foster ‘27 were the percussionists for “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” by Stevie Wonder (arranged by Roger Emerson). The fifth and sixth grade chorus closed their portion of the show with “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin (arranged by Audrey Snyder), featuring soloists Wyatt Brooker ‘31 and John Thomas Hamilton ‘30 and flutists Isabelle Tang ‘27 and Dr. Ruthie Colgrove, band director. 

The advanced chorus opened with “Come Alive” by Pasek and Paul (arranged by Mark Brymer), featuring soloist Katy Waldhauser ‘28. Next, they performed “Les Misérables (Choral Selection)” by Schonberg and Kretzmer (arranged by Roger Emerson), featuring soloists Shannon Reding ‘29 and Emily Chai ‘29. The advanced chorus girls and high school chamber singers performed “Dear Theodosia” by Lin-Manuel Miranda featuring soloists Elizabeth Martinez ‘29, Ariel Rajabi ‘28, and Kate Hogan ‘29 and a duet of Anna Claire Kadzis ‘28 and Katy Waldhauser ‘28. The advanced chorus closed their section of the program with “You’ll Be Back” by Lin-Manuel Miranda (arranged by Lisa DeSpain) featuring soloist Ethan Devarapalli ‘28. 

The combined fifth through eighth grade chorus performed “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Ashford Simpson (arranged by Roger Emerson) featuring soloists Eva Foster ‘30, Camille Jensen ‘30, and Katherine Jacobs ‘30 and Little on the drums.
