Students produce the 2023-2024 yearbook

The 2023-2024 Wesleyan yearbook was recently released, and seniors Courtney Gibbs and Chloe Hammers, editors-in-chief, chose the theme “Beneath the Surface."
When beginning their roles as editors-in-chief, Gibbs and Hammers expressed a desire to make space for Wesleyan’s student body’s unique interests and experiences to be made known and to shine a light on the importance of asking the deeper, heartfelt questions.

“The choice was made with the purpose of delving into the depths of the collective identity of our student body, to uncover intricacies that would otherwise go unnoticed,” explain Gibbs and Hammers.

The yearbook production process offers a unique opportunity for students to grow in teamwork.

“Senior Laurel Edge, our managing editor, also deserves credit for the excellent finished product. Throughout the creation of the book, she kept an eye on the progress of pages vis-à-vis the publisher’s requirements. She communicated when there were setbacks and supported staff members when they needed help,” says Suzanne Ragains, yearbook advisor.

“Students readily bounce ideas off each other, help one another with photographing events, support each other through editing, and more,” explains Minoo Mayfield, yearbook advisor. “It really is a team effort, and having such collaborative students makes a world of difference.”

Well done, Courtney and Chloe, and thank you to the yearbook advisors, Alison Wenz, Paige Burgess, Adonnis Jules, Melissa Thorson, Minoo Mayfield and Suzanne Ragains!
