Middle school band performs a spring concert

On Thursday, May 9, middle school band students performed their spring concert.  
The sixth grade band and advanced band combined to open the concert with their rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” by Francis Scott Key (arranged by John Kinyon.) 

The fifth grade band performed a “Pep Tune Medley” arranged themselves and “Marioish” by David Campbell. 

Following the fifth grade students, the sixth grade band performed “Star Wars” by John Williams (arranged by Carl Strommen), “Peace Like a River” by Robert W. Smith, “Dark Adventure” by Ralph Ford, and “¿Quién será? (Sway)” by Luis Demetrio and Pablo Beltran Ruiz (arranged by Robert Longfield). Sixth grade percussionists performed “Festival of the New Sun” by Alan Keown.  

The advanced band closed out the concert with their performance of “Ache of Triumph” by Johnnie Vinson, “Bonse Aba,” a traditional African folk theme (arranged by Douglas E. Wagner,) “Tripwire” by JaRod Hall, “Handclap” by Fitz and the Tantrums (arranged by Johnnie Vinson), and “Sing, Sing, Sing” by Louis Prima (arranged by Michael Story). The flute ensemble performed “Three American Folksongs” (arranged by Richard Hervig).
