Four faculty members named GISA Master Teachers

The Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) has named four Wesleyan School faculty members GISA Master Teachers. Wesleyan now has a total of 28 GISA Master Teachers.
Jacki Reid Freeman (lower school diversity coordinator and librarian), Ryan Hodges (middle school physical education teacher), Kendra Morris (twelfth grade girls chair and high school English teacher), and Anna Myrick (science department chair and high school science teacher) were all selected after completing a thorough application process through GISA this past spring. Reid Freeman has been at Wesleyan for four years, and Hodges has been at Wesleyan for 12 years. Morris has been teaching at Wesleyan for 17 years, and Myrick has been at Wesleyan for 13 years.

To be accepted into GISA’s Master Teacher program, candidates submit a detailed application and a portfolio of three tangible examples of outstanding work related to the classroom and to sharing and collaborating with other educators. Additionally, they must submit an unedited video of their classroom teaching utilizing best practices and five letters of recommendation from colleagues, administrators, parents, and students.

“We are thankful for Jacki, Ryan, Kendra, and Anna’s dedication to education and their desire to grow professionally,” reflects Ramona Blankenship, associate head of school. “They are an inspiration to all of us!”

Congratulations, GISA Master Teachers!
