The Varsity baseball team had a strong week before the Easter holiday, winning three games over region foe White County! The Wolves won the games 8-0, 11-1, and 3-0 with strong defense combined with timely hitting. The wins moved the Wolves to 8-9 on the season and 5-4 in region play. 1st Game Write-up:
The Wesleyan Wolves baseball team enjoyed much success in their region match-up with White County tonight in a game played at Donn Gaebelein Field in Peachtree Corners. The Wolves topped the Warriors by the score of 8-0. Eli Hewitson starred for Wesleyan as he threw a 7-inning complete game shutout on only 60 pitches. He surrendered only 3 hits and struck out 3 batters. The Wolves opened the scoring in the 4th inning when Ryley Webb drew a bases loaded walk. Webb was followed by a sacrifice fly from Carter Hayes to plate the Wolves’ second run. And then another bases loaded walk brough the third run of the inning home. Wesleyan tacked on 4 more runs in the 5th inning on a solo homer from Grayson McCollum and a 2-run homer from Knox Bingham and an RBI single from Coleman Eldridge. That was all Hewitson would need as he shut the door on White County.
